The Wells Safe Water Buoy will be retrieved from Wells Beach on Monday, April 22nd at 10:00 am. The buoy will be towed away by the Coast Guard, and we are asking for the public to be mindful of keeping a respectful distance to allow for the operations to safely take place. An officer will be present to ensure safety.
If there is no damage to the buoy, it will be placed back by the entrance to the jetty. If there is damage, the U.S. Coast Guard will take it away for repairs and return it at a later date.
Thank you to everyone who wrote in to the U.S. Coast Guard expressing the importance of the buoy and why it should remain at the entrance of our harbor.
