Absentee Ballots are available at the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours 30-days prior to an election.
If you would like to vote by absentee ballot but are unable to come to the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours to vote in person, contact the staff in the Clerk’s Office at 207-646-2882 to request a ballot by mail. The voter must call the office, as family members cannot request a ballot for another family member by telephone. Immediate family members can request an absentee ballot for another family member by completing an application form and filing it with the staff in the Town Clerk’s Office.

Wells participates in a program with the State of Maine that now allows you to request an absentee ballot electronically by using the following link, only when there is a State Election:

The Town Hall Absentee Ballot Secure Return Box is now available to drop off your completed Wells / State absentee ballot envelope at the rear of Town Hall by the entry door. Please do not place the envelope in any other container. Only place in the marked mail slot on the side of Town Hall 208 Sanford Road.
