Absentee Ballots are now available for the August 6th, 2024 Special Town Meeting.
This election pertains to an ordinance to establish a retroactive moratorium on large-scale residential developments.
If enacted, the moratorium will last 180 days from the retroactive date, which is April 16, 2024, and prevent the siting and constructing of any large-scale residential development, the acceptance or processing of any application pending on or after April 16, 2024 for large-scale residential developments, and the issuance of any approval or permit related to any large-scale housing development.
If the retroactive moratorium is enacted by the town meeting, the Select Board may then extend it for an additional 180 days after notice and public hearing if the board finds that issues giving rise to the need for the moratorium still exist and reasonable progress is being made to alleviate them.
