   Good morning, My concern is that our community is sorely in need of a swimming facility that could meet the needs of; 1.Those who do not know how to swim (particularly children) 2. A low impact exercise for elderly or those who would benefit from water therapy 3. Recreation 4. And a healthy option for regular exercise I live close to the Wells Recreation Center and watch the campers there each year play in the hot sun. A town pool would help the center and community to thrive in so many ways. The closest pools that I am aware of are in Sanford, Biddeford, Dover, Portsmouth and Somersworth. I have been a member of the YMCA in Sanford where I coached and taught swimming for many years. I have also been a member of The Works in Somersworth that is affiliated with Wentworth Douglass Hospital. The community is growing rapidly. I would be willing to help in whatever way(s) to work towards the fundraising/building of a town pool/aquatic center. Sincerely, Sue Pennell 721 Branch Rd.

   I think that Chief Putnam has done a wonderful job, and it has bothered me to see her in television spots with Colonel Eagles on her lapels. Other Chiefs of Police are sporting the stars of a Brigadier or Lieutenant General. Can we please promote our Chief to at least Brigadier? Thank you.

   I think that Chief Putnam has done a wonderful job, and it has bothered me to see her in television spots with Colonel Eagles on her lapels. Other Chiefs of Police are sporting the stars of a Brigadier or Lieutenant General. Can we please promote our Chief to at least Brigadier? Thank you.

Currently, unless you go out of town or own a wet suit, swimming is limited due to the temperature of the ocean. If you wish to bowl, again you have to go out of town. Both activities add to the health of everyone.

4. Walkway at atlantic ave beach bay

   A walkway should be installed at the bay beach by the bathrooms at the end of Atlantic Ave. it is very roccy and difficult for older people to access the beach.
