The Town of Wells is committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our community. In response to recent updates on COVID-19, the Town of Wells is now implementing containment and social distancing. At this stage, The State of Maine has yet to release standard operating procedures for Towns and Cities, so the Town of Wells will be following State and Federal guidelines and operating as follows:
Effective immediately (3/17/2020), the Town Hall and all other municipal buildings will be closed to the public for two weeks, excluding Public Safety (fire, police and rescue) and the Transfer Station. The Wells Library, Recreation Department and Train Station closed Monday March 16, 2020. Town employees will be working within their departments. This decision will be re-evaluated as more information becomes available from Federal and State authorities.
Should you need assistance with transactions during this time, please call 207-646-5113 to discuss with a Town Representative.
For up-to-date information on Wells schools, please continue to monitor the Wells- Ogunquit CSD Facebook page. Bagged meals for students will be available for pickup weekdays between 8:30am – 10:30am at the Elementary School and approximately 11:00am at Town Hall parking lot.
The Board will be issuing an emergency proclamation tomorrow evening and the meeting will be amended to reflect items of necessity. All other public board or committee meetings will be canceled during this timeframe. We appreciate your support and cooperation.
