Through an agreement between the Towns of Wells & Ogunquit, and the School Committee, the Wells Police Department has two dedicated police officers assigned to the schools. Additionally, the Ogunquit Police Department also dedicates a police officer to the Community School District. Together, the three officers are each assigned one school (Elementary, Junior High, and High School). The School Resource Officers (SRO) are all trained by the National Association of SROs and receive advanced specialized training in crisis intervention, active threats, juvenile law, and family risk management.
